Robert (Bob) Morus founded and serves as President and Director of Winegrowing for the Mt. Defiance Wine Company and Phelps
Creek Vineyards. He moved to Hood River in 1989 with the expressed goal of raising wine grapes and kids. Today, the estate vineyards
consist of 30 acres. When not tending the vines or selling our wines, Bob commands a Boeing 777 in international operations for a major

Rich Cushman is Director of Winemaking. A Hood River native, Rich returns home after over 25 vintages in the Willamette Valley.
Classically trained at UC Davis then apprenticing in Germany, Rich brings experience and a passion for cool weather varietals to our team.
Rich's extensive ties to the Northwest wine industry provides attention, resources and credibility to our operations. He also crafts his own
label, Viento, in our facilities.
Alexandrine Roy joins us from Burgundy as Contributing Winemaker and Consultant. The fourth generation vigneron continually amazes
our team with techniques steeped in tradition. Originally tagged to produce a special cuvee from our estate Pinot Noir, her role has
expanded to contributions on all aspects of PCV crush. We look forward to a continued relationship into the future.
Nicole Backus serves as General Manager. Moving to Hood River from SW Michigan in January 2010, she brings a passion for wine that
stems from growing up in a small AVA. After earning her BBA from Western Michigan University, Nicole's interest set sail in the world of
wine while working for Norwegian Cruise Lines in Hawaii. After seafaring, Nicole returned to Michigan and put her wine knowledge to
work for a boutique winery and also helped to grow a wine distributorship before falling in love with Oregon and Phelps Creek wine.

Kristina Thomas is our National Sales Manager and oversees distribution of our wines in 17 states. She has an extensive background in
sales, management and customer service, having left the rigid packaging distribution business after eight years to start a career in real estate
sales. As the market began to slow down, Kristina decided to seek out another passion of hers...wine! She started working part time with
various wineries doing direct sales and distribution along with selling wine in various tasting rooms and wine events. She brings an unbridled
enthusiasm to our team to help continued and future growth in wine sales nationwide. kristina@phelpscreekvineyards.com
Natalie Cox is our new Hospitality Coordinator. A graduate from Central Michigan University, she recently relocated to Hood River
from Fayetteville, WV where she served as the sales director for a whitewater company. Although new to the wine industry, Natalie has
extensive managerial experience in fine dining, health and beauty spas, and outdoor adventure/whitewater organizations. Natalie also brings
a culinary skill set to the PCV team, and when not outside birding, paddling or skiing, you'll find her in the kitchen creating new recipes

Thayne Cockrum served as our first Sales and Marketing Director before heading to the San Francisco bay area. Prior to joining the
Phelps Creek team, Thayne worked as the Coordinator for the Columbia Gorge Winegrowers Association where she honed her
knowledge of this unique growing region. She now manages and assists with our website and e-marketing endeavors.

Irineo Magana is Operations Foreman. The quality in the bottle begins with hours of hard work in the field. Irineo's commitment to
quality grape production grows from personal pride in witnessing vineyards developing from cuttings to wines. He coordinates the efforts of
three brothers and numerous other workers in the field and winery.
